Guidelines

Before You Arrive…

To get the most out of your experience, it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with how the concept works. Here, you'll find information on what to bring, guidelines for using the sauna, and other practical details.

Heitebua is a self-service facility, so it's important that our guidelines are followed. All swimming and sauna use is at your own risk.

  • Never swim alone - Always arrange with a friend if you plan to swim in the sea.
  • Towel - For hygiene reasons, everyone must bring their own towel to sit on in the sauna.
  • Hygiene - We do not have a shower available, but we encourage you to shower at home before using Heitebua.
  • Swimwear - Swimwear is mandatory. It is not permitted to remove swimwear inside the sauna. Please use the changing room to change clothes.
  • Shoes - Please do not wear outdoor shoes inside the sauna room. Leave your shoes on the shelf in the anteroom.
  • Freshwater only - The sauna heater can only handle fresh water. Use water from the tank located in the anteroom.
  • Alcohol - We generally do not recommend alcohol in combination with sauna use or swimming in the sea. For private bookings, moderate amounts of alcohol are permitted, with a maximum of 2 units per person. Beverages that can stain the wood, such as red wine, are not allowed.
  • Food and snacks - Not allowed inside the sauna.
  • Smoking and snus (tobacco) - Not allowed.
  • Trash - Please take your trash home with you.
